The male lay still, he was tired of insulting her and getting angry, it was getting him no where and it was merely causing him aggravation and pain. He listened to the screeching cry of the girl’s laugh break the silence. His expression flinched into that of a grimace at the sound. He disliked being laughed at, but didn’t mind this time, as he hadn’t done anything embarrassing. It was merely something he said which found amusing, and as it hadn’t been that serious an insult, that also didn’t provoke and angered response.
The male didn’t struggle, of course he wouldn’t just let her kill him, but right now she didn’t seem to make a move for anything vital, so he didn’t panic just yet. He felt if he just didn’t provoke a violent response this may go more easily. He was calming down now and he peered up at the girl, maybe he’d escaped any more pain?
Wrong.
“AH!” the boy gave a pained grunt as his body was tossed over and there was a quiet crack from such force from the kick. The kick having more than likely fractured a bone, but he didn‘t know this, he just knew there was pain. He coughed sharply eyes wide at the sudden searing pain which outmatched the dull throbbing of his heel or even when she’s held his neck so brutally. The ache expanding across his chest like someone had dropped a rock on him. A sheen of moisture now clung to his forehead as his chest heaved holding in any sound of the agony with surprising restraint.
His eyes shut tight, his lips trembled lightly with the effort of keeping silent, his breath was now simply strained pants as he tried to get his head around the pain which had dazzled his nerves. He picked up the sound of a heavy impact with something to his left. The sound of rocks tumbling and cracking. Had she destroyed another statue? His hand raised and gripped his chest, where the stab of pain had originated.
”I really hate you”
Will didn’t response as he lay on his back on the ground, gripping his chest. But a startled whimper left his lips as she sat on him. His head rolled groggily. Unsure what was going on exactly, there was an odd, heavy pressure on his toned stomach and despite his eyes being closed, he had a feeling he knew exactly what it was as he felt it shift somewhat. Did he look like a stool?
The male wasn’t angry, he didn’t want to be. He didn’t want to be in pain either. He was too tired, too weak to put up with this. He couldn’t help but wonder why he was forced to suffer this kind of thing. Once again, his curiosity had gotten him in another suck ass situation.
More questions were fired at him, but she seemed a least a tad more docile that before. He didn’t want to rouse anymore misgivings on himself, but as his lips moved, he couldn’t form proper words. His eyebrows furrowed with seemingly a kind of concentration. His breathing rather ragged from being winded. The pain in his chest dying down somewhat but when he moved it pricked at him like a needle digging into his flesh.
“W-W-Will” he croaked, answering the one question which only needed a single word in response. The ground was cold and damp against his back, mud and some blood stained his shirt. And he realised this. They were the only clothes he had, it would be impossible to get the stains out. He sighed miserably at the realisation.
“N-no w-w-where else” he grumbled eventually after quite a long pause to try and respond to her last question.

She waited for him to answer, patiently enough, quite content where she was, even if at this point she would have preferred to still be cradled in the arms of the maimed stone seraphim. It had been much more comfortable…as well as less noisy. She thought absently about getting off, listening him stutter out his name. A smile split across her lips as she lent forward a little, stifling the laugh with her hand, like before…only it hadn’t quite made it this time. A childish giggle, restrained by the fangs that glittered as she laughed behind her teeth, eyes closed…which only seemed to make her look more feline. ”Will, huh? S’a good name.”
He seemed to have simmered down some, she grinned behind the same crimsons stained tanned claw; see? Violence always helped. She couldn’t be sure it was due to that, but it wasn’t interesting enough to command even the slightest bit of thought on her part. Byakko didn’t offer her own name, because it was something she didn’t believe he wanted to hear, it became unimportant….it wasn’t like she used it a lot anyway. Only on the days she ran into some poor unfortunate soul, intact or no.
”No where else? To go? Looking for shelter? You should ask the dogs. They’re good at stuff like that.” She nodded, as if making an intelligent point, she wasn’t aware that something like that wouldn’t make sense to him. It had just been a slither of thought, voiced without restraint at all. Byakko lifted herself off him, crouching next to his side, watching his with a light scowl. ”You know you deserved that; right?” That was as close to an apology one would ever get, and in truth, it wasn’t much of one. “Eh, you’re all dirty.” Byakko laughed, successfully stifling the noise this time, She said that like she had nothing to do with it at all! As if she’d just watched him roll in mud of his own free will.
”Are you always this miserable?” She asked suddenly, watching his face with a devilish umber hue, the azure glittering with a more feverent, light-hearted cast. Byakko couldn’t say she enjoyed company; course it had to be the right kind, but she preferred following even this guy round then being on her own. For a couple of reasons; one, it was more entertaining. Two, it stopped her from wasting a night sleeping and three, it was a good chance to acquire targets, as well as it was a great pastime while the Dogs were away.
Byakko had been with them since she was little, it had been dangerous at first, and she still had the harsh bite-marks to prove it. But they accepted her eventually; even as the sickly pup they knew she had been. She grew up with them, watched them die; watched various new leaders and went through several feuds with other dog packs. She became an animal long before she became a vampire. With that understanding it wasn’t that hard to figure her… you had to treat her more like a pet then anything…if you were willing enough to get anywhere.
She sighed loudly, turning her head to survey the darkness in an alertly animalistic way, lowering her head a little seeing as it was all clear. “You need some food” She said, poking him with a claw, where she’d kicked him. “Or else that’s gonna hurt for ages. And before you flip out again I meant food-food. Not blood.” Byakko was tired with pursuing that, though she didn’t understand it…she found absently, she didn’t want to. She liked blood…he’d only ruin it for her. ”Do you spent a lot of time with them? The humans, I mean”

He was starting to dislike her laugh, and the fact she done it so often, for no reason. It was an irritating giggle like thing that he just wished not to constantly hear of and over. It made her sound insane in his opinion. He remained as still as possible, wincing frequently when she shifted her weight and moved as it always applied pressure on himself. His eyes still remained closed, not yet feeling like opening and looking at the face of the female. Wishing it all to just be over and she’d go away and torment someone else. This female he felt could provoke suicidal thoughts in anyone to just get away from her! As he actually received a compliment from her about his name, he merely grunted in reply. It was hard to take anything from this female as a compliment, it always seemed like some kind of jeer or taunt.
“Dogs?” he tutted irritably with the same, earlier exasperation. “So you expect me to what was it? Ask some random to be a donor for me, fight to drink blood of vampires who are ten time stronger than me and now make myself look like an utter idiot talking to bloody animals?! Got you’re mad, go away already!” he moaned, his arms lifting to fold over his eyes.
He thankfully felt the pressure lift from his body and his muscles relaxed yet pain still panged in his chest, the strange pain he hadn’t felt before, that actually came form inside him. What has she done to him? Knowing his luck she’d probably punctured something and he was slowly dying from internal bleeding. That seemed to be the luck he was having lately. He yelped lightly and rolled onto his side, curling up sulkily as she prodded him sharply.
“Fuck off, did not” his voice was muffled and was shockingly similar to what you’d expect of a stroppy child. “And it’s you’re fault my clothes are filthy” he growled, he breathing grew deeper as he uncurled himself and forced himself shakily into a sitting position looking down at his muddy shirt. The fact it was white and fine linen only made him even more upset. “These are the only clothes I have” he sighed.
Once again that irritating laugh pierced the night making him feel worse than before. Was she taunting him now? Talk about kicking someone while they already down…oh no, wait, she’d already physically done that, so teasing him while he was in this state wasn’t too low for her obviously, she could apparently sink much lower.
”Are you always this miserable?”
“Only when I meet people like you and treated like you just bloody treated me” he muttered coldly. Hopelessly trying to brush some of the mud from his shirt with very little luck. Mud grazed his cheek and stood out a frightening contrast against the sickly pale flesh it clung too.
“Have you had you’re fun?” he grumbled, staggering to his feet, almost falling back over as the pain from his foot shot up and the pain in his chest racked downwards, colliding mid way and made his body jolt from the feeling that sent his nerves sizzling in displeasure. His had to stop, leaning against a headstone for support while he caught the breath which escaped him,
He whined as she prodded him in his wounded again, he slapped her hand away without thinking and moved away from her, disliking the constant discomfort she caused him as he wiped his damp forehead, his back resting against a curved tree trunk trying to gain some support to carry himself.
“It’s you’re fault I’m hurting anyway” he growled. “There’s no where to get food now, it’s to late” he scowled. “Everywhere is shut, the markets don’t open until morning” he scowled. “And no, I don’t. I can’t” he replied wearily to her question.
“Half of these stuck up assholes don’t even cast me a glance, my fangs point me out as a vampire straight away, the closest I get is when I linger in alleys or steal food” he growled. “And I don’t spend any time with vampires either before you ask”.

Byakko wanted to laugh, watching him fold his arms over his face, apparently defeated by her, she took pride in it, not entirely sure why. She really shouldn’t of been proud of her deranged attributes… And there were so many… She openly laughed at his denial, silly boy, of course he deserved it. You couldn’t talk to most people like that and get away with it, let alone something like her. All you had to do was say something rash to the wrong person and… well; a scene much like the earlier one would happen. Maybe he’d learn the lesson… ”Yeah, that was my fault, I’ll give you that one.” She grinned, tugging on a dirty bit of his shirt, “But you’re still no victim, Pup. Besides, there’s a whole night to find new clothes! You shouldn’t be so… ‘woe is me’ ya know. It’s really not the end of the world.”
“Me neither, I don’t really want to go near the humans, but they over-react every time I get bored and give it a try And the vampires? They usually act just like you.” She flashed a grin, a monster to both species; she couldn’t blame them for thinking so. But she wouldn’t change for them an their petty ideals, she liked being this way. She liked being able to do what she wanted, she preferred being an animal. Black tresses flickered across her face as she tilted her head, watching him, still crouched where he’d lain earlier. ”But at least you have the other half, ne?”
”Do you really think you treated me any better. Judging and whatnot.” She smirked, “At least I had the common courtesy to inflict a sort of pain that I could see.” She scoffed at him in an amused way, wandering over, pausing along the way to cast her eyes round again, the two optics momentarily changing in dark and cruel beacons in the time between the glances. “And its definitely your fault I hurt you.” She grinned and laughed again, he had things backwards… it must have been the way he functioned…a lot of things about Will seemed all muddled in her point of view.
“Everywhere is shut, the markets don’t open until morning” She mimicked what he said in a high pitched whiney voice, curling an arm round his waist, sticking out her tongue before shaking her head. He really was clueless. It was a wonder he’d survived this far…not that she knew how old he was, or could even estimate, starving himself probably added on a couple of extra estimated years. Byakko’s claws scraped against his skin through his clothes, but even so, they were more careful this time and didn’t have the open intention to wound him… it was a light touch, almost like a tickle. ”C’mon stupid!!” She said, casting an Azure hue onto his face, letting the small pupil retract before she closed her eyes and flashed her fangs at him. ”To stop you from whining and being noisy, we have to get some food and clothes right? You’re so lucky!”
”Eh, there’s a thought; What’s your verdict on stealing? You gonna whine about that too?” She began to lead him through the cemetery, supporting him with a slightly irritated look. She’d have his smell all over her for ages now. Bummer… That’d complicate things later; no doubt. Why was she helping? Well…it wasn’t really helping; she was just ensuring the night’s entertainment would continue to exist.

More laughing? Did she not know how badly he wanted to claw off his own ears right now? He shook his head lightly, her laugh irritating him more than her erratic suicidal thought provoking nature. He didn’t know what it was that made her so blind, but couldn’t she tell he didn’t want her there? He wanted to be left alone to mope in peace?
“I don’t care, I don’t think like you do, I don’t even want to think like you do! You’re insane and it’s no wonder you’re alone! Who could honestly put up with you? Human or vampire!” he cried in exasperation. “I don’t want new clothes, these were fine! I like these clothes, and you’ve pretty much ruined everything for me in a total of a goddamn hour!” he snapped. He winced, rubbing two fingers to his temple while the other supported him by leaning on a headstone. It wasn’t surprising this female had gone and given him a head ache. She was so exasperating it was literally unbelievable.
“I’ll be ‘woe is me’ if I want too” he growled. Although he in truth had absolutely no clue what the saying meant. And I had every right to judge you, because I was right! I knew you’d be trouble and most likely insane, and look where it’s gotten me!” he snapped. His patience once again wearing thin. “You’ve fucking kicked me so hard every time I move something in my chest hurts, you’ve ruined my clothes, taunted me and generally made everything fucked up.” He spat.
”But at least you have the other half, ne?”
He didn’t even know what she meant by that comment so chose to ignore it while he gripped his chest with throbbed mercilessly. It made him flinch, any drastic movement made it seem to burn unpleasantly and he didn’t know what was wrong with him. He knew nothing of how the body worked internally. Therefore he was clueless to his own injure to what Byakko had done to him and it scared the shit out of him that for all he knew he could be dying and all this vampire could do was ramble on and laugh insanely.
“That’s not courtesy” he grizzled unhappily. “You want me to cheer up yet you’re the one that’s making me miserable. Do you NEED a bigger hint?” he growled. The way she mimicked him made him glare icily at her, his earlier hatred returning but not the hostility. He was too tired, too sore and hungry to be hostile towards anything now. His body went rigid as she put her arm around him and he bristled heatedly as he felt her nails brush his flesh through his muddy shirt making him try to pull back. Not wanting her claws anywhere neat him after she’d nearly straggled him, broken his back, done something to his chest and made threats to murder him. She was impossible.
“NO!” he roughly grabbed a tombstone and tore himself from her grasp, propelling himself backwards again another statue which gripped, panting his eyes glistened with pain and collected moisture but it didn’t form tears. His breathing was ragged from the injuries she inflicted on him.
“I’m not going anywhere with you!” he snapped. “I’m going to find shelter, and I’m going to sleep and with any luck, you and you’re dumbass logic would have fried in the sun” his hissed. Staggering off in another direction. “God Marieke please get her away” he whined under his breath, the words drowned out by the rustle of the leaves.

Well this was better, things had certainly picked up from earlier. She laughed, behind her wrist this time, the noise completely silent, her slender shoulders bobbing up and down, displaying her laughter, rather then simply throwing it out at him. Byakko at this point expected pretty much all of that to happen, even if he was being a bit over-dramatic about it. Were it not for the fangs that produced from under his top lip…no one would ever have been able to tell he was a vampire.
She watched him stagger off, nothing needed to have be said earlier, he was at his limit and probably wouldn’t handle anymore strange and half thought retorts or primeval observations. Honestly, She’d have him in a foetal position by the end of the next hour. She pressed a bloody palm to her cheek, letting the black fabric of the sleeve scrape against her skin, it was crusty from the dried blood, but even so, the fabric by all visual manner looked soft and glossy. Byakko passed there for a minute, eyes cruelly following him as he stumbled away. The umber hue darkened, melding oddly with the pupil as if it longed to reach out and swallow him up. She’d spit him out indefinitely… the kind of taste he’d leave in her mouth… it didn’t do thinking about.
In a flurry of fabric, hair and claws, Byakko mounted the roof of one of the crypts, she lent on the large cross, arms dangling over the horizontal stone rectangle, her head tilted to one side. She grinned from there; sharp fangs alight as the moon gave them lubricated glitter. A slight chuckle sounded, then she tilted her head back, curtains of long straight hair spilling behind her shoulders like a short waterfall; The ends flailing and catching the light like an energetic clash of waves.
A horrid sound escaped her mouth, a sickeningly sweet sounding tune, devilishly haunting…a long and eerily purposeful drawl. All the neighbourhood dogs went crazy for it, lifting up their own voices, little more then background squeaks compared to hers. She drew a claw across the cross in a feral manner, fangs glittering like they had before. The boy had lost his purpose. Byakko was entertained enough now without him. What a good little toy; Like all the others. She usually didn’t toy with vampires in this manner… but she didn’t think of him as one. So the verdict was quite fitting.
Late howls, began after her song thankfully ended, but these got louder the more their drawl pierced the night, they were coming for her, the stray dogs. She’d called them in the manner only they would respond to. Two sets of pads made at the fallen leaves crackle, the beat of each paw hitting the ground getting closer and closer, from all directions it sounded like. Low growls echoed out, being mimicked by a lower follower…creating more of the illusion of being totally surrounded, helpless and outnumbered. The dogs didn’t mind humans and didn’t attack them…but very few animals liked vampires… such creatures were unnatural to the dogs senses; therefore they didn’t belong. Byakko was only an exception because she’d been with them since before she became infected with said disease.
”Don’t look them in the eye.” She grinned into the back of his ear, he could probably feel the movement as her lips curled back into a twisted feral grin, fangs parting as she spoke. “Don’t whine, don’t quiver” she kept whispering, standing close behind him, her voice low and predatory, glittering optics flickering at him in the darkness, large black forms barley visible even to a vampires eye. ”You’ll have to run fast, little pup!! Don’t let the Dogs bring you back to me!” A sharp finger prodded him in the back, pushing him forward a little; indicating now was the time she should start running.
It was her send off, in a sense. Either the she killed them, or had the Dogs case them away; Very few times had she left of her own accord.
Fangs snapped at his heels, sick sounding growls and sharp loud barks, biting at the air behind him, coming from every angel, except in front. Jaws meshed together and claws scuffed the ground in a hostile manner. The darkness made these everyday animals seem, larger, like demons with glittering white eyes… The moonlight caught very little of them…they stayed cleverly in only the thickest shadows. Byakko had been teaching them tricks.
”Run far now!” She called after him, using her wrapping effectively, bestial optics glittering at him, like lots of pairs of the same eyes, the one being glared at should feel left out. Wasn’t she nice…letting him live. Byakko marvelled at her own charity sometimes. The boy, Will, was in no condition to fight them off…and he’s certainly face her monstrous wrath if she found one of her pack members dead or wounded, besides, there were too many… once he’d left the cemetery the Dogs would probably get bored and come back to her. Stupid things. Byakko lent forward, settling her hands on her knees, curtains of black tresses flickering forward as she pushed a hand onto the sloping cranium of a large dog, rubbing it’s fur in a rough manner before she turned and walked back into the deeper parts of the open crypts, lifting her arms up to stretch as she did so.

The young vampire didn’t know what to expect from the female as he limped away, his shoulders hunched and his body ached as if he’d been ganged up on by several large males, never a single female. Although to be fair, the female he’s happened to run into was completely insane. Animalistic and had the strength of ten men by the way she’d kicked him. As well as setting in completely unprovoked attacks.
He just hoped that she was finally going to leave him alone. His back twinged and ached from where she’d kicked him sharply in the spine. His heel throbbing dully and nearly numb now as well as the underside of his foot being coated in trails of blood which had dried into his skin and giving him a limp. His chest with felt like he’d been stabbed and the fact his clothes were wet and dirty and clung to him like a second skin. And his shoulders seemed sagged dejectedly as he tried to make serious distance between himself and the girl who had caused so much damage to his already vitally weak body.
He prayed every so silently under his breath that he would hear the flap of her clothes or the pad of her feet trail after him, or wouldn’t feel any other part of her collide with him in someway. His eyes were narrowed, eyebrows furrowed as he used several trees and headstones to support himself, stopping him simply falling to the grass and remaining there to sleep. Although there wasn’t a chance he’d even wake up the next morning, via it be from bursting into flames or that mad woman slitting his throat in the middle of the night.
He felt an odd lump in his throat, and he tried to swallow, to get it away. It was something he hadn’t felt in a while and it was strangely familiar, discomforting as he tried to dislodged the discomforting blockage of sorts in his throat. His breathing laboured and tired as he trekked further away. The sudden sound of movement behind him and the light barely audible thump of the female’s feet onto the stone crypt rooftop made his body freeze rigidly briefly. He didn’t turn around and soon he was walking again, silently praying under his breath she’d just let him leave in piece.
It probably seemed rather pathetic. But it wasn’t exactly fair to judge him was it? Everyone had there own ways to deal with things and Will was pretty much a very incompetent vampire, having chased off the man who had changed him which meant, how was he to know what to do? Instinct done sod all more truthfully because he just seemed to have a lingering humanity. Which of course normally all vampires had when changed, it was there mentors who either nurtured this last shred of humanity or demolished it completely. Will had been thrust into a whole a new world, a very terrifying prospect of a monster he’ so suddenly become in the eyes of humans. And as a comfort, he’d held desperately on to that last shred of humanity he possessed.
A wave of goosebumps travelled the expanse of the male’s skin as he heard the spine chilling call that seemed to echo into the darkness and sounded as if it could travel for miles despite it not being too loud. It sounded inhuman. Will felt so suddenly unnerved by the cries of the canines who perked their ears and tossed their own voices and calls into the mix. Will didn’t usually fear dogs. He’s always been good with them, sharing what little food he had in return for companionship. Yet although the dogs he’d met never actually attacked him, they always seemed more than weary around him. However the way they responded to Byakko, as if she was an alpha wolf summoning her pack, he just felt that gnawing in his stomach, that his trials weren’t completely over yet.
He could the hear the snap of twigs and if it had been a later and dryer season, it probably would have been joined by the dry rustle of leaves. The sodden ground however did carry the vibrations of the heavy animals lurching their bodies full speed towards them. He continued at a slightly faster pace but not too much more than before. His breathing picking up with slight alarm.
He jolted slightly, barely but he did. At the feeling of her voice in his ear, twisting sharply to stagger backwards just to see if she really was behind him. The tricks of the vampire never ceased to unsettle him, the tricks he did not know how to execute. “Just go away” he whimpered, the lump in his throat returned, feeling as if it were going to choke him as he shook his head fiercely. “Why?” he croaked, staggering back. He felt the sharp finger to his back jolting him forward and he was just able to catch himself although his caused him another flicker of pain to run up his back and stretch across his chest, making him stumble for a second time.
All he could do as he heard the threateningly thick hungry growls vibrate in his ears and those sickening jaws snap and hook his clothes was run. However quite clearly in the condition Byakko had left him in, he couldn’t run fast nor far. Despite the fact he was an incredibly swift, agile boy in such a weakened position from starving himself. He had his limits. His steps were heavy and it was more than a few times his body threatened to top and meet with the ground.
He gave a yelp as his body did eventually hit the ground, he felt a heavy weight on him in seconds. And he instinctively lashed at the heavy hound on him. He could hear rips as they tore at him and he felt one of them catch his leg, adding another wound to those he’d collected tonight. His hand and feet lashed out at their snouts. Not to do permanent damage. But a scolding motion, this being enough to back them off briefly before he could scampered out again.
The next time he fell, he hit the hard cobble stones of the road. He couldn’t hear the click of the dog’s claws or their hot breath on his flesh any longer. He lay silently on the cold wet stones, his body half stretched half folded on the road. Until he eventually, shakily pushed himself into a kneeling position. He looked to the cemetery where the forms of the dogs were disappearing back to their leader no doubt. His eyes fell to his bleeding leg, his heel once again bleeding under the strain of the run.
The lump in his throat stinging as his eyes burnt and a hot tear finally slid down his cheek. A boy of his age could only take so much. He’d been beaten, ridiculed and kicked out of the only shelter he’d had. He couged, fiercely rubbing his eyes and further smudging the mud on his face. He sniffed and picked himself up. Removing the gold locket from around his neck and gripping it tightly he headed down the deserted road. The sun was going to rise soon, and he only had one place he knew which had offered him shelter. Maybe protection as well as he headed in the direction of Octavia Street.
Ooc|| I don’t think anyone’s been that cruel to Will before o.0 not enough to make him cry anyway x3
