Ever Danced With The Devil In The Pale Moonlight?

The moon bounced off the cold stone skin of the angels plump looking features, smooth cheeks and perfect eyes, all in symmetry, a smooth small feminine chin curved under her jaw to meet a slender neck, a stone drape hiding the detail of the sloping jugular. Light looking hair flailed in a non-existent wind, as this angel had been captured in stone many years ago, so many in fact that her cheeks had started to erode away, and the features of her hue-less eyes had been taken away. The stone tresses curled at the ends, like a grey and forever wild sea, sharp waves and restless curls in the surface. The stone garb was plain…wrinkling artistically in all the right places, bare feet, half eaten away and unrecognisable.
Dark cast stone wings produced out of its back, arching slightly in the air, layers and layers of grey cold unmoving feathers, broken and chipped in places, green in the places life clung to its forever high-standing stance. A tender arm was reaching forwards, the other curled round the feminine creatures stomach, half eaten by the realistic collapse of fabric folds.

A bloody arm curled round the slender unprotected neck, slender sharp nailed fingers, dripping crimson onto the hungry stone, which absorbed it straight away and stained. She placed a bloody foot into it’s given palm, outstretched and tender; the perfect foothold. Practically weightless she climbed up, perching herself in its arms, black fabrics ruining the look of serenity and peace… torn and shredded, dangerous and old clothes. A claw scraped loudly along the feminine stone cheek, a crimson line followed the sickening scraping noise, as if she had cut into the stone so deep she’d reached the sleeping angel inside. Her hands were red and glittered freshly in the moonlight, the thick sweet scent of various types of blood flooding the secluded cemetery. Sleeping with these dead was something she did often. She knew a lot of the people buried here, no as friends or companions… nothing so human; unfortunately.

She leant her head against the creatures jaw line, silken black tresses flickering slightly in a chill wind, spilling like ink over the statue’s shoulder as well as hiding her small slender elegantly shaped face from view, behind a thick black curtain. Her arms curled round its neck idly, nails scraping against the stone again, wishing blood would flow from it. On some nights this particular creature couldn’t get enough… she had blood all over her, from several people…and yet here she was, literally shivering for more. More blood…more delicious…
Her arms pressed against the cold stone, offering it’s hungry surface no warmth, if anything she just made it colder, fresh blood made the fabric of her outfit glitter strangely, like it had been glazed in places, a darker crimson streaked down her arms, thicker then the other blood; probably her own…but the wound was obscured and she didn’t move like there was anything wrong at all. She curled her legs up, letting the fabric part to expose her leg, as it often did, as she brought her knees to her chest. Slender somewhat malnourished physique captured and perfectly framed in the tight curl of a black lace corset.

It was strange, seeing her in the arms of the stone angel, large grey unmoving timeless wings curled round almost protectively…it would be easy for one to mistake her for a human. Foolish, she hardly counted as anything that was…or had ever been human. She tipped her head back a little, exposing her slender neck to the light of the uncovered moon; as if in primeval submission. Her hair fluttered away from her face, brushing softly against her cheek before it fell to dance and meld with the jet colour of her outfit.
A hue of thick umber lustre glittered violently up toward the sky, hungry with a frightening small feral pupil, dangerous, cold and hungry. She parted her lips as if to say something, the black in between her open lips being replaced quickly by a glitter of large dangerous fangs, a smoulderingly cruel grin flashed the purity of the moon, staining it before she giggled in the night, quite manic actually…easily mistaken for a strangely pronounced purr.

The beast, Byakko, lent back against a smooth stone arm, propping her back against it as she pressed a foot into the angels half eroded shoulder, she didn’t look quite so innocent now…draped over the figure like a leopard in it’s tree, her sleeveless arm limply hung down, dripping crimson down the stone fabric of the angels toga, long red streaks that thickened and widened as the stone feasted upon it. Bi-polar optics glared at the face of the angel, claws suddenly flashing passed it with a sickening sound…a deep four claw gouge now scarred its face, she inspected her hand then smiled in amusement, lifting that hand to her lips as she lent back a little more, her limp tan, golden tainted arm still limply hanging down.

"Don't you wish you could smear blood on the Moon little angel? Such a clean bright colour... needs to be dulled a little."

<sub>It seemed the relentless tyrant of the weather had finally let up it’s bullying blows to the world below. The start of spring had been a rather wet one and the winds had been harsh on occasion that it was surprising that the newly budding leaves had not been ripped prematurely from their grips on the clawed branches which protruded out. Seemingly to reach for the sky as the branches waved and cradled in the gentle breeze that toyed with the London inhabitants tonight. The rustle of leaves was gentle but audible, even to the few humans which walked near regents park, but none dread near the cemetery. The human’s had began avoiding this place during the day, so when the sun fell and all essence of warmth and security left them, the cemetery, filled with death, bodies, looming shadows that seemed to reach out to drag you in. Smooth if not crumbling headstones which had the dates of those past fading away until the date was eligible and the name of this person irrelevant.

It was sad really. These people lost in the laps of time where like water would stretched itself up and over the sand and wash away the footprints and eventually the memories as well as the strong structures of sandcastles and human’s alike fell and buckled over the minutes and over the years. Structures weakening and finally they simple crumbled to the ground.
It was amusing what you could compare with another that seem completely irrelevant. Calling the weather a tyrant, saying that time was like water, humans like sandcastles. It all seemed rather silly but not when you spoke it, some may say you mad, but you couldn’t deny the element of truth, the logical way they were connected in ways only few people would notice. Depending of course, how you wished to interpret these thoughts.

The sound of something coming in impact with the water jolted the male from his thoughts, he blinked and as a few stray droplets of icy water flecked his bare, pale skinned foot it made him jolt backwards in surprise and hastily rub the water away. the skin tingling still however from where the cold water had mercilessly sucked the heat from his flesh. He scowled, dark eyebrows furrowed with distaste as he cast his eyes upon the dark glass like surface of the water. The moon shone like a large white eye above cast some light down upon the young male, who unfortunately, no longer possessed the eyesight of the vampire he was. His abilities had been strong at one point. When he’d just been bitten.

He remembered how thrilled he’d been when he’d discovered his own abilities. Able to run faster that he already could, people barely even registering as he ran past, pick pocketing and other such things that were deeply frowned upon. How he could see down the other end of a busy street without any effort. The very minor details which had been hidden from him seemed so obvious now that it astounded him greatly.

But all that was gone. All except his sense of smell. His fangs were long and over grown, signalling that he had no fed in a good eight months or so. In fact, he’d never even tasted blood, which for a vampire sounded pretty ridiculous. But it was true, he’d never tasted blood and he had no desire too. Hence the reason compared to the finely slender, strong vampires that he’d glimpsed wandering about, he was a pretty poor sight in comparison. He was by no means a flimsy built person. His body was finely toned with muscles indenting his stomach and curving his neatly muscle packed body. But still his figure remained lithe, agile, athletic. Rich, sapphire blue eyes glistened lightly under the glaze of the moonlight which seemed to look down at him with pity. He growled lightly in annoyance.

He didn’t need the pity it had to offer him, very few had even cast him a glance, he was a homeless ill looking emigrant child in their eyes, they saw his ragged state, the wrinkled their nose, they realised he was homeless, he saw distaste that such ragged people were littering the streets. They heard his strong American accent?
They up and left, these Londoners were shallow, only two other’s head met proved to be decent people. The well known doctor, James Lancent, and the renowned slayer, Marieke. The last name escaped him however, not that it mattered too much.

The young male of around eighteen pushed himself up, he ran a slender fingered hand through the short tussled silver of his hair to sort it out somewhat and brushed some dust and invisible dirt from the black three quarter lengths which clung loosely to his body, held to his slim hips with a scruffy brown belt. However he did wear quite a fine shirt which seemed to improve the scruffy look. His shirt was white linen slightly dirty around the cuffs and hem.

The boy clicked his tongue off the roof of his mouth, the moon highlighting the silver flecks which speckled his eyes. He raised his head to the sky, falling back with his arms supporting him to gaze at the sky, the dark canvas studded with tiny diamond studs never failed to captivate him. However his attention was torn away but a horrible screeching sound which felt like it made his ears bleed.

Growling Will stood, curious as the pale skinned creature wandered through the lanes of the cemetery curious to what had caused such an unearthly wail. He rubbed irritated at his throbbing ears as he wandered curiously in the general direction of the side.
His eyes widened slightly as the sweet aroma of the wet grass and flowers were drowned by a thicker, stronger smell, it was salty and overpowering and it made his stomach lurch and his nose to twitch with interest, but his face contorted into disgust, knowing such a scent.
Blood.

His gaze fell on a figure, cradled by a statue it seemed, he paused, standing in the shadows, wondering why this woman was caked in blood, was she hurt? She certainly looked rather fragile when curled against the great stone angel. But his eyebrows rose and he stepped back as the woman ended up in a more predatory position, and her fangs glinted, where his reached his chin, her’s were the length of a healthy vampire, a killer vampire.</sub>

Byakko turned her head to the side, resting a shoulder on the base of the stone angels neck, her claws being drawn back and fourth across the seraphim’s cheek, it’s face had become nothing but four deep crags, hued inside with black as the moon didn’t bend her light for anyone. She was not as gentle as one might think, especially not on the few nights a month where she too became predatory…sending her powers to the world below; stirring all manner of horrible beasts. The Vampiress stood by what she said…a few splatters of luscious crimson would do the world good. Naïve people wandering around… people and vampires alike to desperately wanted to believe that they could be saved and that they wouldn’t fall prey to the tantalizing lust.

She caught his slight scent, working through the blood of various people and her own that caked her seemingly unmarked skin, working through the must of time and sodden earth as well as the slight tinge of a small animal having made it’s way through in the first few moments of dusk.
His scent was weak… and not because the wind was redirecting it, as she had supposed for the first few moments. Elegantly slanted optics narrowed, course colours flickering with focus as the moon caught them, sending a ghastly light to disrupt the vibrant hues, making her optics appear like two bright beacons. A few loose stands of silken black tresses swept forward to remove the light from her eyes, taking it quickly and fluently, like the wind did lost souls.

Hues of azure and a fresh umber latched onto the feint darkness and ripped through it, she didn’t move much though, keeping her languid position in the arms of the angel. “S’not nice to stare” she murred, her voice was thick and dark, dangerous, with a primeval growl-like backing. Byakko pushed herself up, curling a thin lithe arm round the angels neck as she shifted to better accommodate the visitor, curiously tilting her head, not really looking for him…but she was intrigued as to why the scent was so weak. The scent of new vampires was over powering; so perhaps he was an old vampire? The concept of a vampire who refused to drink blood was lost on the girl… being the eloquently wrapped beast that she was, didn’t help either.

”Did you come to play?” She asked, lips turning their indifference into a devilish smirk, fangs exposed, the shapely curved tips scraping against her bottom lips, whispering seductively of cutting the skin.
Byakko was still very much up for a game, the moon practically had her shivering with feral excitement, she’d already playfully gifted three long blood-curdling howls. Vampire or no…Byakko had little respect for either species, they were both a blood source and certainly a source of entertainment.

<sub>Will watched the female calmly desecrate the statue with distaste as her fingers drew across it, and although the angel’s face had been rather worn and eroded, you’d been able to distinguish the features. How the finely carved stone was like smooth, firm skin and had designed a beautiful motherly like face. The robes pooled over the angel’s body solid and unwavering but fell in waves of fabric that you could imagine touching and feeling the cool soft feeling of silk or velvet against you’re finger tips.
No longer.

The angel’s face was now merely a chipped stone surface like you would expect on the side of a cliff or wall of some sort, the deep scratches that marred the solid material gaped like endless voids trapped within the remains of her face. He watched the tip of the round button nose crumble completely and dislodge from the rest of the statue and fall with a link ‘clunk’ on the stone block she stood upon.

The male stood, he didn’t move as he surveyed the reckless massacre of the once admirable work of art and hard work and it irritated him how selfish and inattentive this woman acted. His eyes fell to the thick, ink like substance ooze its way down the crevices and cracks, the curves and the slopes of the statue and dripped around the remainder of the statue’s feet. His stomach growled ever so softly as his nose twitched, sickened but drawn by the smell of the thick bloody substance which his body hungered for. He felt an odd tingling sensation in the base of his fangs, near his gums and it almost urged him to wander closer.

However he held himself back, deep blue eyes narrowed and he shifted his weight to the other leg, waiting as a gentle breeze teased his skin and flushed the smell of blood over him, he held back the urge to gag over the rather rancid smell of blood and trampled, muddy earth mixed together, not a very nice smell, even for a vampire. The female’s voice distracted him however as he looked towards her, adjusting herself in the angel’s embrace and he scowled at her.

“S’not nice to stare”

Course it wasn’t, it wasn’t nice to totally destroy statues needlessly either now was it? However the boy remained quiet, he could sense the danger practically radiating from the female. The way she so easily picked and hacked at the stone of that angel as if it were simply the case that it was a tree and she was the woodpecker. So easily lashing into it as if it were natural.

Will knew he wouldn’t be able to do such a thing and it daunted him, the smell of all that blood he knew could not be her own and surely not a single persons, otherwise it would have been more the case she’d rolled in the blood instead of drank it.

”Did you come to play?”

Will, now personally thought she was mad. Nothing but a killer and someone who enjoyed the thrills. Thinking it was a game. The hints were there, and he didn’t always hesitate before jumping to conclusions. But he was never interested in interacting with vampires.

“I doubt you’d play fairly, so I’ll pass” he replied coolly, turning to walk away.</sub>

“You haven’t even heard the rules yet…” She said lowly, the flutter of moving fabrics sending the air into a nervous shudder, a slick crimson palm imprinted itself on the angels shoulder, he slender fingers were drawn across it, ruining the oddly perfect print, as she skilfully and silently pushed herself from its arms. She took a couple of steps, bare feet soundless on the soft earth, ignorant of the small pieces of stone and statue that had grown to weak to hold onto its once wholesome self.
” And for someone who doesn’t want to play…you sure took a lot of time before walking away”
A light slender arm curled round his neck, standing shoulder to shoulder with him she tipped her smoothly shaped face forward and inspected his own, a small smirk tainting otherwise flawless lips as she took note of his fangs.

Slanted ferine optics glittered at him, bi-coloured hues quivering with a dark and cruel bloodlust, small animalistic pupils bore into his face, The arm she had casually curled round his neck shifted slightly as she randomly pressed a slender finger against the tip of one of his fangs. Predatory eyes narrowed slightly, black tresses spilling over his shoulder in but a single breath of eerily silent movement.
”Ahhh…so it was the smell? Che…Shallow, aren’t you?” She mocked him lightly, lifting her free hand to her lips to silence a giggle that never came.
”That’s what you get for starving yourself ya know… Should be careful about that, soon event the little things’ll get you heated…”
She applied pressure to the finger pushing against the tip of one of his fangs, cutting herself on it, letting the bead of blood soak the tip of the unused ivory tool. Byakko Whispered lowly in his ear, as if to express some dark forbidden secret… He should be commented for his effort; but desire would get him eventually.

And what a sight it would be…Byakko wagered he’d go insane with it, after getting a little he’d want to make up for all the time he’d lost. She shivered excitedly at the thought of the massacre, pausing the thought as she took the pain in her ass that was ‘humanity’ into account. In such an instance he’d probably curl up into a little ball and cry for them; No one should cry for them.
”Stupid human” She said, technically he was… seeing as he didn’t appear to have fed very much since the beginning to his timeless afterlife. A claw was pushed into his temple, the sharp nail threatening to draw blood…but she didn’t apply enough pressure for that. “Should smear that part of your brain in crimson” She drawled, in the usual simplistic and manic way.
”Or at least do the rest of your brain a favour and…”
Byakko twisted her crimson stained hand, hopefully sending a pickle of pain straight through his head as the tip of the claw felt out it’s entry point…waiting hungrily to draw some blood.
”BANG!!”

The estranged vampiress pushed him away roughly, flicking some hair from her small face with a crimson finger, the darker blood dripping steadily from her elbow, now that it couldn’t run down the rest of her arm.
“End you’re silly little puddle of self-pity”

<sup>The male hadn’t even turned to watch her approach him, “Like you’d even follow your own rules” he snorted. It was only the smell of blood growing stronger that had warned him before feeling a pressure around his neck, something wet pressing against his flesh and he looked at her with clear disgust scrawled upon his face eyes narrowed revulsion as the woman placed a bloody arm around him.
“I don’t want to play you’re pathetic little game” he growled. “It’s probably something idiotic, destructive, pretty much sums you up already” he spat acidly, slapping her hand away. “Keep you’re filthy hands off me” he growled venomously.

He didn’t want this creature anywhere near, his eyes cast to the angel’s who’s face was slowly grumbling from the abuse as it met it’s end before it’s time. The blood staining the cold stone and the face now becoming just a dark void as chipped bits no longer strong enough to remain latched on fell in small pieces to the ground.

The silver haired male disliked the way she watched him, she seemed to simply stare and her eyes reminded him of a cats. The way they seemed to glow in an inhuman manner as the sun picked at them with flickers of light from a steady silver beam. The female would have been pretty, well, in truth, she was pretty, attractive. But Will didn’t see that, he could only see the blood, the manic way she smiled and eyed him and the way she talked, she simply, irritated him the way she seemed to think she was superior.

He felt pressure to his temple and once again he viciously reached a hand up, surprisingly fast for a vampire who hadn’t fed before and slapped her hand away from him,

“Don’t touch me” he repeated coldly, throwing her the dirtiest look he could manage. He reached up to his fang which protruded too far past his lower lip to be safely situated in his mouth, pointing somewhere near mid-chin, like a life line. When the fangs reached past a vampire’s chin, maybe directly or about a centimetre or so off. It would mean the vampire was simply too weak, the fangs too long to feed, they would simply die of starvation. No food would quench the hunger and it would be only blood that would settle the claws that seemed to rake desperately at a vampire’s stomach, their soul. If they even possessed one.

“Leech” he snorted in response to her ‘stupid human’ insult. He all of a sudden, felt contact to his chest as she roughly pushed him. He stumbled back a step or so, but didn’t fall, merely bared his fangs and snarled. He was easily wound up lately, it was the stress, the agitation, the hunger.

He swiped at the blood smeared on his neck and he wrinkled his nose in distaste. The smell of death and blood on her breath. “Foul wretch” he snorted. “I’m not interested in you’re stupid games, and you’re opinion is worth fuck all to me” he growled, roughly pushing past her to once again, attempt to leave her behind him. This was one of the reasons Will hated to make any sort of contact with those of ‘his kind’ most were foul, insane creatures that he thought deserved to be impaled on sharpened spears of wood.

“Rot in hell” he growled under his breath.</sup>

Byakko watched him bare his lengthily fangs, she lifted the back of her hand to her lips in absent thought, letting the her tan skin scrape gently against the flesh of her plush bottom lip. She had no concept of the problem he had with feeding. She’d never really been human after all…the only difference in her life now was that it would last for ever; she didn’t have to worry about never waking up one cold night. Savouring life was a lost concept also…as was regret and empathy. So far as she was concerned…people walked into their own problems, no one should help them walk out of it and then into the next one; such charity only led to leading someone else’s life…or rather for the rest of their life. Not that she would know from experience.

‘I’m not interested in you’re stupid games, and you’re opinion is worth fuck all to me’

Her eyes narrowed slightly, he should be commended on his boldness also… but he should be careful about that. Really careful. He tried to push her like she had done to him earlier but as the motion was being made she curled a slender crimson hand round his upper arm and applied a harsh amount of pressure, yanking him a few paces back when he tried to continue walking away. She pulled him to her wit that arm, like retracting a Yo-Yo. Byakko let a low primeval growl vibrate into the base of his neck, her fangs bared the indication in the slight breaths that rolled off his skin.
”Stupid bastard… I could bleed you dry…” She parted her lips and scraped her fangs against the skin on his neck, a vice grip stopping him from moving on this side... the dangerous look in her eye warned him silently not to bother raising his other hand.
“Fuck the vampires. Fuck the humans…I hate them both.” her malevolent growl got louder and louder, splitting through her throat, making the air shiver with tension and anticipation.
”And I won’t be barked at by a boy who belongs to neither.”

She curled her lip back in a wild growl, pulling back…she’d of bitten out his throat if he hadn’t posed for a little entertainment. Rage rimmed optics turned away from him for a moment, “As for the rotting; drive a steak through my heart and I just might” She shrugged loosely; “But I don’t suppose you have the brass for that…” He couldn’t even kill a human after all, And evidentially, not other vampires. Especially considering the depressing sate of him.
”You don’t feed off vampires either? Che…what’s wrong with you?” She scowled at him, prowling round a couple of times, the fabric of her black outfit twitching every time she started a short path of movement. Vampire blood was more of a temporary release; a good way to get rid of the hunger, but not very good in the ways of energy.

”If you keep that up you’re going to be rotting in hell long before I do.” She laughed at the thought, death was a course of nature; she’d come to terms with that quickly in her life; so the concept of it being inevitably bad was lost on her too. It had been a silent lesson learned many times within the mutinous packs of strays that sometimes ran through this particular area. Byakko in truth preferred cats… but the dogs were more energetic and got bored about as quickly as she did… they were more practical for the life she led.

This kid acted like a lot of the few vampires she’d met did, self pitying things… little more then a pitiful whisper of what they could be. Not that she really wanted the competition. She cast and azure hued optic to her hand, recalling the times it had been slapped away, he was still pretty fast for something so…

Gah.
How annoying. He was thought provoking. A tool she’d rather not use.
”Why don’t you feed, stupid boy?” She asked, stepping up to him, leaning forward like the child she was, looking at his face, her arms behind her back, bright bi coloured hues locked onto him like he was going to tell the story of how the world and its apparent misery began. Her hair swept forward and hung like to sides of a great black curtain, sometimes obscuring her slender face, feral orbs and the indifference shortly placed upon slightly pale lips.

<sup>Another irritated, animal like snarl left his lips at the sudden contact. And the pain which seared up his arm from the awkward pressure she put on it, making his muscles tense and clench in an attempt to evade the pain. He grunted as he was pulled roughly towards her, his eyes brimming with hatred at her. He disliked vampires, he disliked any like her, and now she was merely making him want to just snap her neck. Although he knew he’d be unable to. She was by far much stronger, probably a more experienced fighter too, although you couldn’t live in the streets of America without learning a few things. New York especially.

His expression melded into disgust as her breath brushed his face making him want to pull back fiercely. “Leave me alone” he snarled. He tensed and thrashed so suddenly, so violently as soon as he felt the fangs make even the briefest contact with his flesh. It had been set a deep reminder in his nerves, his mind, subconscious that this feeling, was bad. As soon as that brief contact was made and his nerves seemed to burn and his head lashed around and fangs snapped with an audible sound that sounded more like the jaws of a wolf snapping as it missed it’s prey, not a human. Will’s fangs at this length could had very easily sunk very deep into the female’s neck, possible slicing the top of her spine.

But his lips hung with very, very little distance from her flesh, he’d purposely missed, then his foot lashed up and shot out with the force you could compare to a donkey‘s kick. Seeing as she seemed to make sure his hand would not lift to push her away, his foot was the most unsuspecting tool to aid him in getting her away. “I don’t want to feed of anyone” he snapped, making it sound as if she was an idiot. He had after all made that rather clear already.

“How the fuck do you expect me to kill a vampire?” he snapped irritably. “They’re goddamn ten times stronger, faster and how do you expect me to kill one? They’re not exactly gonna stand still and let me are they?” he snorted. Looking at her as if she was an idiot.

“Trust me, you want a stake through your heart, I have a friend who will happily oblige” he growled. Ripping his arm away from her. Reluctantly stopping himself clawing her across the face she she’d done to the angel previously. But some sense got through to him before he let his temper get the better of him. It would do no good, she could simply snap his neck, he wouldn’t have stood a chance, he knew that, quite well.

“Look, you’re bloody waiting my time, go torture a goddamn kitten or whatever you do for fun” he snapped. Even that thought made his stomach lurch with distaste. “I’m just wanting to kill someone before I drop dead from this fucking torture” he snapped. And there was a certain person he was after, although he didn’t specify.

He had to cease his movement as the fem was so suddenly in front of him, looking at him as if he was going to tell her a story.

“Because it’s disgusting, and I’d rather not get a title as a fucking leech like you do” he snapped. Clearly when he was stressed or aggravated, angry as he was now, swearing simply seemed to thread into his words.

“Now fuck off” he scowled irritably.</sup>

She grinned at the noise, a fierce eyes observing him in a condescending way, he didn’t do it? Stupid boy. She’d left the perfect opening, a risky move, but little thought ever went into her games and ideas; Both of which usually costing something quite valuable when lady luck was against her… it was one of the reasons she often came out of her own games with wounds. Too much wild curiously and a too little self-preservation.
She didn’t seem bothered by how close he’d come to biting her, she figured that all wounds healed and death was a release. Young Byakko thought very little about the negative things… like the animals; she was aware that life was too short for you to think about how bad things had gotten, you had to get up and keep moving or else the wind would seep said life away.

She caught the slightly movement of his knee as he began to move it, quite fast, considering his condition, but she’d noted that from before. She took a sweeping step back, letting her foot indent a slight arch in to the dirt, taking a quick and flawless stance as she met the boot with a claw. She skidded back a little, shaking her hand as the force irritatingly vibrated along her bone, causing her hidden wound to flare in spite. “Still pretty strong…ne?” She waved her hand in the air as if she’d burnt it and was trying to cool the reddening sore.
”Humans kill vampires all the time. If they can do it then shouldn’t you be able to?” She quirked a brow at him, for all his talk he certainly wasn’t very spontaneous. “That’s not true at all, the strength of vampire depends on how happy it is with living after its ‘incident’ or ‘the change’. There are a lot of freshly moping bastards who’d just sit there were you to suppose a meal. I hear you can even get donors too…but that’s boring.”

Byakko continued to watch him, quite carefully too, small wild optics taking in the utmost detail, trying to figure him. He seemed reluctant to tell after all…and here she was in a good mood, being somewhat nice. She would have stained the tombs with his blood had the moon not given her such a high.
”Oh? Who is it?” She asked, intrigued once again, thoughts of ripping him to pieces slowly being enveloped umber and azure coloured hues. “And if its torture…why don’t you be a good boy and yield to it? It’s every man for himself after all. And there’s no worse way to die then in some foetal position.”
She scowled at the thought, a strange shiver capturing her body; she wanted to go down fighting…and not just anyone, she wanted to die fighting someone she admired and looked up to. The thought of never dieing escaped her…like a lot of things seemed to, she’d spent all her young life watching things die…so really she thought of this disease as more of an extension to the life from before… evolution, would be the best way to describe it. But such a term would have escaped Byakko as well.

”Why don’t you get a donor then? I can’t believe you’re making me say it but you don’t /have/ to kill them. /I/ just prefer it. More blood that way. And it’s very amusing” She grinned despite herself, a silent laugh coming through her lips in an innocently and oddly childish way.
She watched the bottled in rage hang around him like a red mist, looking quite amused at it actually; it was lost on her as to why he didn’t just let it loose.

Another reason she didn’t enjoy the company of anything except the animals…people and vampires over-complicated everything. Life was only difficult because they made it so, and they grew the most ridiculous kinds of morals in all the wrong situations. It was almost like they enjoyed just relentlessly punishing themselves.

”Awww, I can’t do that now. You started talking in sentences an’ everything!” She closed her eyes and flashed him her fangs in a strange, very immature grin. Her eyes and form were probably the only grown up things about her, oh…and perhaps her own temper.
”So! Where are we going?” She quirked a brow at him, hue of umber/crimson lustre glittering at him, she only asked because she knew it would irritate him. If she got bored when she would definitely leave…
”You’re voice is strange; from America? Why’d you come here? S’not much here but beasts and rain” She flashed another grin, but this one happened in a rather sinister way. Indicating that she knew and enjoyed being one of England’s beasts.

<sub>It merely infuriated Will further that this creature didn’t bother getting irritated in response, she was frustratingly calm and childish that he simply wanted to punch her to make himself feel better, but again his restrained proved admirable as his eyes flashed murderously. He wasn’t sure if he wanted her to remain calm or just attack him so he’d have an excuse to do some damage, no matter how little or how much he happened to cause.

But he was reluctant to lose his life, Will wouldn’t simply hand it over to anyone despite the fact he may so. He may say’ go ahead then, kill me’ but given some time, he’d ‘chicken out’ as such. He feared death, he feared it greatly and didn’t want to just fall into a state of...of nothing. It scared him to think of death, being forgotten, and often he tried to think of what it was like. That everything he’d learnt and endured was for nothing and that, everything he’d seen, his mind which thought constantly, even when he slept it kept to work, that it would just simply stop.

There wouldn’t even be darkness, there’d be, nothing. And the prospect of nothing, was probably terrifying. And the reason? Will thought to much, unlike Byakko who seemed to not think at all in his opinion and had to be told over and over the same goddamn thing.

He was jolted out of his thoughts and barely contained a yelp of pain as he felt something sharp pierce his foot. He should have known it was a risky move to put any sort of force on this female. But it was a natural instinct for any animal, any beast. If you’re caught, and getting hurt you find the quickest way out. He watched her retract her hand and his pierced heel which slowly oozed red was placed back to the ground. His weight pressed onto the sole of his foot, his heel lifted of the ground and he winced in pain.

He was more susceptible to feeling pain than the fem was, she was in top physical condition after all, it was only to be expected. “People kill vampires because vampires kill them” he said, rolling his eyes as if it was obvious. “And just because I can, doesn’t mean I will, I’m not going to just make myself a murderer because of what I was turned into, I’m not going to be anything like you, I’d rather end my own life then and there!” defiance dripped heavily in his voice. Mixed with hatred and frustration at this childish female.

“It’s none of you’re bloody business who it is” the man snapped. “and once again, how the HELL am I to get a donor?” he snapped. “I can’t walk up to someone and ask if they can give me a pint of blood every now and then can I?” he growled. “And I don’t want fricken blood anyway, get that into you’re thick skull!” he screeched, clearly at his patience end. Once again he turned, walking away from her, a slight limp in his step, pain seared his foot as his muscles tensed and ached and blood trickled down and along his instep, clinging to his foot and leaving bloody smudges on the damp ground.

“I always spoke in sentences dumbass” he growled curtly, he didn’t answer either of her last questions. It wasn’t important, not to him, and he didn’t want her following him. He didn’t even know where he was going. He’d pretty much just sleep where he first found shelter from the sun then start wandering again, hoping to never run into this irritating female again.

Will would have probably been able to play it more cool, but when you were starving, you’re stomach feeling like it would start chewing on itself at any minute, you lost all thought, all patience. Anger seemed to just boil like an overheating pot.</sub>

“That’s not always true. People misunderstand… it’s too much hard work trying to be nice to people who in return, cower in your presence…Or they get so scared that they think they should get you before you get them.” She lifted a slender hand to her head, filtering it through her hair strangely, before looking at arm, the one with the same steady stream of crimson dripping pathetically down it. “No one knows where it started. ‘Sides…I’ve seen plenty vampires like you; Too many actually. She mused, casting slanted visionaries on him, regarding him as an eyesore.

Byakko eyed him, looking childishly amused as he raged about becoming something like her, she’d never suggested it…at this point he seemed to just be making assumptions. Were she to create something like herself…well, it would mean competition, right.
”Hey…” She said, smirking at him, lifting her bloody arm to point to fingers close to his face, the tips of her claws dripping ruby’s onto the ground near his feet.
“You know, I we don’t kill them. They can become one of us right? Which would you rather? If you had been given the choice?”

”I’d give you some blood, but you’re an ass…so I think it’d be wasted” She laughed slightly, more like a giggle actually, she quickly stifled the noise with the back of her hand, suddenly inspecting the blood that freshly lingered there; as if she’d only just noticed. Byakko held the arm in front of her, watching it drip, moving her crimson fingertips as if confused by something. “And yes you can; humans are pathetic…there are a lot of them that revere vampires like gods…or hell, you could get one drunk and bite her…Hell, I dunno. I don’t do that kind of weird stuff.”
She shrugged, hissing suddenly, pausing a step before she began to move again, scowling at the ground as if it had wronged her in some way.

”Haaa! That’s a lie and you know it!” She laughed, looking down at the bloody prints is foot left behind, she grinned at them before turning an eyes back to him. Byakko seemed to be taking him all in good humour, she would have gotten irritated by the noise he made at this point but she found it funny in this instance, retorting to his shriek with a wince and a “…So noisy.”

”Maybe, but before you weren’t actually saying anything” Byakko laughed at the sort of sense it didn’t seem to make upon the first hearing, she pushed the ball of her foot into the dirt and flicked in front of him again, the black fabric of her outfit flaring a couple of moments after the movement had ended.
”I really don’t get it.” She mused, pressing to bloody fingers into his chest to stop him from walking.

”You’ll feel better if you eat someone, and yet…nothing. You’ll look better and fit in more if you eat someone…and yet; nothing. There are plenty of thinks that literally get on their knees and beg for you to eat them…and yet; more nothing. You act too…defensive for someone who has a death wish, not to mention your load mouth… I /really/ don’t understand you pup. And you assume to know me so well…” She folded her arms around her small form, claws griping onto the lace that decorated her corset.

”I should really kill you”

<sub>The male was losing his patience with the female now, not that seconds before any patience had seemed to exist, but now her words were meaningless, he didn’t even want to bother to reply. She knew nothing, she just simply didn’t understand and she stated that he was the stupid one.

He was the one who could be called humane, not human, as she said, he was no longer human, and although he tried to bitterly deny the fact that he wasn’t, he knew that it was true. Humans could stand enjoy the warm flush of the sun. Human’s could live without needing to kill each other, without needing to suck each other dry. Human’s could talk and laugh and be friends. It was rare to see a human who laughed insanely, murdered without a good reason. Murdered for fun.

No, if there was, they’d be too frightening similar to Byakko.

His gaze was on the ground as he limped away, making no more indication he knew she existed, his hands were curled into fists as he continued to walk away from her and return to the peace he’d been in earlier. This female was irritating and ground his nerves.

He snorted, her words were pointless on him. He was stubborn, and anything this female said about humans, about how stupid, how simple, how it was ok to kill them. It was all wasted on him, because anything she said was wrong. And they were as wrong as Will was stubborn. And that was more or less the reason she was wrong. Because Will believed it was, therefore to him. She was wrong, simple. And it was in that way, people thought, people acted and generally how people lived.

However his exit was once again faltered and his hand twitched but reluctantly remained glued to his side as his eyes flickered up and his jaw clenched and fangs glistened against his sickly pale flesh. His eyes cast down to the bloody finger pressed to his chest.

“Don’t. Touch me” he growled, his voice surprisingly calm, but there was a hell load of death in those few words, a growl that seemed more animalistic than even a vampire could manage, but he did. He this time, grabbed her hand instead of slapping it. His nail like claws embedded into her flesh and forcefully threw it back down to her side.

“Are you really that stupid?” he scowled. “Are you really, so blind and thick skulled that you can’t see the obvious!” he asked incredulously, shaking his head and looked at her with an almost sneer. “I’ve already been given the choice. To bite and drink but leave alive, or kill. You by now, should know the answer” he snorted with contempt.

“Neither. I don’t want to be blamed for someone’s life being torn apart because I degraded them to living this pathetic existence that so many vampires ‘cherish’. I don’t want to kill anyone, I don’t want to end up like, because you’re so blindly obvious. You’re sick, deranged and a pathetically vile creature. So, I don’t drink. simple”.

The male rolled his eyes.

Still, she didn’t get it? Will was now more exasperated than angry with this hopeless case.
“I may look better, but I won’t feel better. I’m not going to ‘eat’ anyone because sucking their blood is disgusting enough. And I’m not going to just stand there and let someone kill me” he snorted. “That’s the cowards way out”.

In all honesty, Will was simply too proud. He lived homeless on the street, no money, no shelter, yet he was proud. All he really had was his determination, dignity and pride, and he defended it fiercely. Even against people like Byakko. She may have thought him a joke, but her opinion was nothing to him. It didn’t matter, she didn’t matter.

“Should you really?” he replied bluntly. He stepped to the side and simply walked around her. His hand lifted to his neck and down his shirt collar, grabbing a gold locket in his slender fingers a brought it out from the protection of his shirt. The gold pendant held securely by a chain around his neck. The one Marieke had given him. Stroking his thumb over the cool surface, he slid it back into his shirt. Thinking of maybe taking her offer for shelter. Maybe he’d be able to get his wounded foot looked at.</sub>

He was repeating himself. Over and over… with the wrong answer each time; He seemed awfully stuck on starving himself…how unfortunate it was that there seemed to be no loophole through this steel fortress of a one-track mind. Byakko could be such a hypocrite; Unbeknownst to her though.
He had a good look in his eyes, when he was angry or when she touched him with her bloodied hands, it was a look that contradicted everything he kept repeating, every question he answered wrong. Byakko’s optics locked into the wound he inflicted pathetically onto her wrist, more blood met the stream that already came, all of them forming a slender river on the underside of her palm, which dripped more feverently then before.
”Ah. That’s no good. I’m the last creature who’s blood you want to have on your hands”
It didn’t seem to be a threat, she continued to follow him slowly, from behind walking at her own pace. She lifted her arm and inspected the blood, sweeping a tongue across the newer wounds. Dripping blood all over the place was a bad idea…for two reasons.
”The dogs’ll get ya…and, well I don’t suppose it matters to you…”

Ignoring everything he said from that point onward, even if she had been the one to ask the question… she was far too bored with his stubbornness to listen at this point, much less to ask anything else. That didn’t mean she was done with him though. Byakko’s eyes flickered to the glitter of metal, picking it up as soon as it became even slightly visible. She scowled; it smelt like human… Pft, Though the scent was faint…it was definitely there, the item must not have belonged to him for very long…it smelt familiar…somehow.

Byakko’s hues caught the moonlight once again, a brilliant beam of white cascading through the two colours before they were returned to her…however reluctantly. Small pupils retracted suddenly, spite quivering through a bloody crimson hue, and glittering through the opposing hue of sapphire.

A claw curled round his neck, nails dipping into his skin before she applied a cruel amount of pressure, her own blood dripped down her hand and onto him, the blood was oddly cold, thick and definitely slow.
There was no indication at all before she yanked him down with bestial strength and slammed a, what might as well of have been; a cement foot into his spine.

The fresh scent of her own blood got to her…like nothing else could, she hated it… and seemed to be subject to its horrid scent a lot more then she wanted to be thesedays. Her small lithe body was tensed and held differently then before, her face was pretty much covered by her thick jet hair, a dark shadow lingering over demonic orbs that very few people should ever be damned enough to see. Her claws were held ridged, fingers curled and nails glittering hungrily. Byakko’s lips were parted in a wild devilish grin, ivory fangs glistening. A growl coursed through the dark, a sound that made the air shiver slightly, it made you feel like you were surrounded by a hungry pack of large wolves, with them snapping a baying to seal your last quick frightened breath.

A claw curled round his shoulder, embedding in it, whether he’d fallen or not, regardless of how far she’d managed to kick him too…she was upon him in seconds, the black fabrics brushed against him, that was the only signal of her existence at all. “I /really/ should…” A thick growl, hardly speech…in fact, words made up very little of the noise, most of it was a sickly hiss and a draconian growl.
”I should make it that game we talked about earlier… and you’re right, I’ve bled too much to play by the rules.”

<sub>Will wondered why the zany female wouldn’t leave him alone. He was irritated, starving for both blood and normal food seeing as any attempt to get it today had been thrashed utterly and completely so he was generally not in the mood for anything, for fights, argument. He just wanted to find shelter and sleep before the sun set his body alight like a matchstick. His hearing along with his nose were the only senses that remained enhanced and improved. He could smell the blood covered female and the grotesque reek that seemed to linger around her as the blood congealed an clotted on her skin. The thought of it making his lip curl with revulsion.

He could hear the almost silent pattern of her foot steps trail almost absently after him and he rolled his eyes heavenward, wishing she’d simply lean him alone. He could hear the lapping of the pond water he’d previously sat at up a head. Maybe he could sit there in peace for a little while longer before looking for shelter. He’d probably end up slumbering in a crypt or something of the sort. Something he disliked, being so close to rotting corpses and freshly dead bodies.

His arms folded, one hand rubbing lightly at his upper arm to try and generate some warmth to his cold skin as he continued to partly walk partly limp from the wound on his heel. Pierced flesh by a nail wasn’t exactly sore, but when that nail was like a talon, it certainly made up for the lack of weaponry. He limped as little as possible, still a track of bloody footprints were left behind him as the pond drew up beside him. The same choir of crickets seemed to fall silent at the approach of himself and the vampiress and the frogs leapt into the icy water.

He made a point of wiping her blood from his nails, effectively ignoring her still, trying to give her the hint her fun was over. He didn’t turn around when she spoke, he gave no indication he heard her as he continued further up the path, she’d get bored eventually. Or at least he hoped.

He was startled by the feeling of something gripping his neck, something sharp, a snarl immediately fled his lips with some alarm and ferocity but his snarl rasped slightly at the pressure suddenly inflicted on the vital air column. His fangs bared, and he closed his eyes tightly and stumbled as he was roughly jerked back. He expected to feel the ground hit his back, but he was to be unpleasantly surprise.

A cry tore ruthlessly from his mouth as pain shot up his back, his body seeming to just crumple to the ground, he’d staggered a good foot forward from the impact and now he had fallen onto his front, his body rigid and his back seared with pain when he tried to move. His cheek was pressed to the cold sodden earth, his silver hair tussled and a few stray locks fell across his face, leaving only pained sapphire eyes to peer through where they could.

The boy’s body tensed and he hissed through his gritted teeth as he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder, was she still not done with him. His body went limp on the ground, against her claw. He closed his eyes, his breathing heavier that before. He made it clear he was not going to fight her, nor was he going to entertain her.

“Shut the fuck up about the goddamn game already, go give football a try like a normal person” he growled irritably. A shiver rocking his body at the thick blood which trickled down his neck and along his flesh. “Disgusting” he growled. But made no move to wipe it away. “You're infuriating" he grumbled. Even in such a position was in now, the male seemed unwilling to hold his tongue. Simply wanting this female away so she could torture someone else.</sub>

“Ahahahaha!! I’ve never heard that one before. Usually it’s ‘You’re a monster, a beast! A vile pathetic creature’ ect; But I supposed you’ve already used a good few of those” Fangs glittered as she spoke, that manic grin never thinning at all, the moon powerless to unhinge the thick shadowing that hid all but those devilish fangs. Not much thought registered anymore, she didn’t analyse in her own strange way…she didn’t go through a range of odd scenarios. Everything was lost to the red mist that had descended upon her primeval optics, turning everything a teasing shade of delectable crimson. The only thing that ruined it was the scent of her own blood, it hit some archaic nerve, over and over again, enflaming every sense she had.

His body moved easy, he wasn’t struggling…stupid boy and here he’d said so proudly earlier he wouldn’t die a coward’s death. The thought of tarring him to bloody ribbons etched itself into her small uneducated mind, she could already taste the blood in her mouth…
Byakko pulled back a foot and slammed it unto his side, rolling him over as well as hopefully breaking something. What she wouldn’t give to hear a couple of bones crack right now. She whirled round in her rage, and slammed a fist into the nearest thing she could find. The door to the tomb groaned and cracked like a piece of glass, she rested her forehead against it and growled, fanged bared at the cold stone, new blood being soaked up by its rough surface.

”I really hate you” She muttered, keeping her forehead rested against the stone. The mutter was childish, like something a little sister would say after you denied her something trivial. Byakko seemed to be using up an entire weeks worth of moods, in less then a hour too, quite feat when you looked at it; but it only further signalled to her unstable madness. She pressed a claw into the rock, watching it crumble away at the slight pressure she applied. Dust was thrown up into her face as the rubble rolled into the empty crypt. She preferred the dead things, they were silent but interesting and she didn’t feel the need to destroy them further.

She turned, eyes still veiled by a curtain of jet hair and walked over to him, sitting on him with a grumble, leaning her hands into the dirt, instead of bloodying him further.
”It’s a shame I don’t have anything better to do…"she murred, leaning her head on her hand, as if in some twisted reality she hadn’t just abused him…and that sitting on him was okay. It was probably safe to say she’d nearly forgotten about it, things passed by too quickly. Byakko was still angry though, and it showed, more as a foreboding irritation then anything. Were she gifted with an appropriately feline tail; it would probably be twitching from side to side right now. Such a childish creature.

”What’s your name by the way? Or should I just call you Pup?” She tilted her head back and looked up, looking down again soon after, veiled eyes gliding through the dark, suddenly curious as to what he was doing here. For a kid who didn’t want to kill anything…she doubted he’d enjoy the company of the graveyard.
”And what are you doing here? No one comes here. ‘cept me.”
