What Wikipedia Says
Of course, it is well known that Vampires are plasmovoric creatures. Human beings that have been infected by the bite of another.
For the sake of this roleplay, I will use a few of the well-known taboo and legends that surround these mysterious beings.
Transmission
As is tradition, to become a vampire you must receive the bite of another, so the 'Virus' can pass from the host into the victim's blood stream. The bite is usually to the neck.
Transformation And Magic
Vampires are not magical beings. They cannot produce things out of thin air and cannot transform into bats. Neither can they fly. However, they are phenomenally quick and agile, and are very skilled at hiding, conjuring the popular belief that they can disappear or reappear.
They do have an incredibly heightened sense of smell, and can detect when blood is exposed to the air. Much like a shark.
Identification
Vampires can be identified by other vampires by scent, but mortals are unable to detect such smells.
Also, there is the obvious. Two sharp front canines, and two pinprick scars to the jugular vein.
Mythological identification that still resides in Victorian London involves walking a virgin stallion through a graveyard. If the horse shies from a grave, it is said to be the grave of a vampire.
But none of the vampires are actually classified as dead. Save for the Weeping Bride.
Destruction
Garlic, mirrors and the holy cross are complete myths. Neither will have any affect on a vampire. Otherwise inhabiting the Abbey would be impossible.
However, sunlight is incredibly toxic, and though it will not reduce a vampire to ash it will cause extreme agony and eventually bring about the individual's destruction. Also, driving a stake through the heart of a vampire will most certainly dispatch one.
Any other queries, message any admin staff, or click on the Wikipedia link for a stupidly long page of information. Believe me, I looked.
